Made it to the final round for the Open Lindy Hop Jack and Jill at Lindy Focus X in Asheville, NC. You’ll see me dancing with Natasha Ouimet. We didn’t place, but I had such a great time still!.
2011 ILHC Strictly Lindy Open Finals – Spotlight - August 27, 2011
My friend Annabel and I winning 1st place in the Strictly Lindy Open Finals at the International Lindy Hop Championship competition in Washington, D.C. We are the last couple in the line up. There are two rounds of spotlights, and then an all skate.
Big Apple on the Great Wall of China - April 24, 2011
One of the most unique lindy events in the world, Great Wall Swing Out is Swing Beijing’s annual international lindy hop event. As a culminating event for the weekend, all the dancers hop on a bus and head to the Great Wall on the outskirts of Beijing. We spent the whole afternoon dancing outdoors while tourists from all over the world stopped to take a photo and wonder what the heck we were all doing there. During the afternoon we performed the Shim Sham and the Big Apple routine, made famous by Frankie Manning, ambassador of lindy hop and hero to all lindy hoppers world wide.
Me and Akiko fake Tango @ Argentina Pavilion – October 22, 2010
During the Shanghai 2010 World Expo, I joined the Shanghai swing dancers in several performances. Since we were official performers, we were all given a week-long pass into the Expo, which also got us VIP status so we didn’t have to cue up to get into any of the pavilions. We decided we’d dance crash as many as we could, and in this video we crashed the Argentina Pavilion. Eventually so many people started watching that I think they thought we were actual performers doing tango for the pavilion. Afterwards, one of the workers who is actually from Argentina asked us what style tango it was saying, “I’ve never seen tango done like that!”
Southern Belle Swing Bash, Jack & Jill Warm Up - August 14, 2010
August 13-15, 2010, was my first ever Southern Belle Swing Bash experience, and needless to say it was one of the most fun events I have attended in a long time. This was also the first ever open Lindy Hop Jack and Jill I competed in and I made it to the finals round. In this video, I’m in the black shirt and brown vest dancing with Rachel Pitner, a great dancer who I met and danced with for the first time in this video!

Steel City Blues 2010 – Jack & Jill Finals – March 6, 2010
From March 5-7, 2010, I attended my first ever all blues event. I learned way more than I could have anticipated over the weekend and met many wonderful friends. This was also the first ever Blues open Jack and Jill I competed in and I made it to the finals round. In this video, I’m in the light blue shirt dancing with Joy Arico, an incredible dancer and wonderful person from Rochester.

Big Apple @ VT – March 15, 2008
This was at our annual St. Patty’s Day dance at Virginia Tech. Once I hit “Flying Home,” we all immediately jumped in and started the Big Apple. Notice though about half way through I completely forget the step and ‘gracefully’ hop out.
